How to Take Screenshot Mac Pro

Here’s how to take a screenshot on your Mac Pro, whether you’re on OS X Yosemite or an older version of the operating system. Screenshots are great tools to capture what’s happening on your screen, whether you want to document something specific or just need to save a picture of that funny email your friend sent you today. Taking screenshots in Mac OS X has been greatly simplified over previous versions of the operating system, and it can be done one of two ways—the quick way using keyboard shortcuts, or the longer way using the built-in screenshot functionality in the operating system itself.

How to take a screenshot using keyboard shortcuts

Pressing Command+Shift+3 will capture your entire screen, while pressing Command+Shift+4 allows you to choose which portion of your screen you want to capture. You can then share these screenshots instantly or store them in an album for later use. A keyboard shortcut is a series of keystrokes that lets you perform common functions without using a mouse or trackpad. Apple recommends using keyboard shortcuts whenever possible because they’re quicker and more efficient than using the mouse and trackpad.

This will open up your Photo Booth application.

How to take a screenshot on MAC laptop

This basic how-to will show you how to capture your screen with just one button click and save it as a picture file. And if you’re using Mac OS X, here’s how it’s done. Even though these steps refer specifically to Apple’s Mac operating system, the same steps can be used for other computers that use a keyboard + mouse for navigation instead of a touch screen (and its buttons). On Windows PCs or Linux systems, however, keep in mind that different keys may be assigned—so check your laptop or computer manual for help there.

1) First, you’ll need to open System Preferences and then click on Keyboard & Mouse. From there, select Accessibility or go directly to System Preferences > Accessibility (depending on your Mac). This will open up additional settings that apply across all user accounts.

2) Under Accessibility in System Preferences (or here, if you did not select it from Keyboard & Mouse), make sure that Enable access for assistive devices is checked. If it isn’t, click on Enable access for assistive devices and then confirm your selection in the dialogue box.

3) From within the System Preferences > Accessibility, move down to Universal Access, and check Screen shot (full screen). This option will allow you to capture your entire screen at once when pressing Command + Shift + 3 together—this shortcut can also be changed if desired, but should always show as something similar within Universal Access options.

4) Click anywhere on your Mac’s desktop or within an open window before following steps 5-6 below. The point is that there must be some visible content for it to capture!

5) Press Command + Shift + 3, then simultaneously hold down Control + Option/Alt with one finger and press Spacebar with another finger.
